We are looking for a talented individual to join our team at World Pediatric Project. Reporting to the CEO and serving as a member of the senior management team, the VP of Finance & Administration is responsible for the creation and implementation of the financial strategy of World Pediatric Project. In addition to providing financial leadership, the VP will be responsible for the areas of human resources, information technology, legal and facilities. The VP of F&A will also work with the CEO to:

  • provide organizational strategy, both short and long term;
  • develop strategic analyses of the organization;
  • create performance benchmarking, analysis and reporting;
  • provide thought leadership for the CEO in the key areas of responsibility.

The successful candidate will be able to multitask, be collaborative, technologically savvy, flexible and detail oriented.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Oversee day to day financial management of the organization
  • Review and approve the preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new initiatives
  • Oversee estimation and collection of Gift in Kind (“GIK”) data, including an on-going effort to identify and track all potential sources of GIK to accurately present the full size and scope of WPP’s operations
  • Manage one accountant; hire and retain support staff as needed in the future
  • Coordinate all audit activities
  • Serve as a business partner to the CEO on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes; this includes HR, payroll, and benefits functions; ability to continuously develop and improve systems
  • Manage WPP’s fractional CIO to design an IT plan for the future and implement it successfully to meet IT needs (hardware and software) as WPP scales
  • Manage the organization’s physical infrastructure, physical plant, and system maintenance (e.g., phone system, security, cleaning, supplies, etc.), with assistance from general administrative support staff
  • Lead and manage the development of policies and operations of the covid response across the organization
  • Lead and manage the development of policies and operations pertaining to the human resource function of the organization
  • Risk management, broadly defined, including general liability, D&O, foreign risk, cyber risk, patient privacy, and continuous assessment of other potential risks to WPP
  • Interaction and engagement with the Executive and Development boards as needed
  • Serve on the board of World Pediatric Project – Belize; represent WPP’s interests and oversee the activity of that entity

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field
  • CPA designation
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience as a finance professional, preferably in a nonprofit organization
  • Leadership or management experience across human resource, information technology, facilities and legal functions
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to explain financial terms in simple (non-jargon) language
  • Familiarity with the structure of nonprofit organizations
  • Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable success in team work and complex environments
